Olark offers a live chat interface for websites. In addition to web-based chat features and targeted chat, Olark features chat ratings, so customers can leave a rating about their chat experience. Olark also allows “co-browsing,” which enables the operator to view a customer’s screen and control the cursor as they assist. Olark does permit customization of the chat window appearance, text, and language. There’s also an Olark API for developers who wish to create a customized interface and/or complementary features or tools. In addition, Olark offers insights into on-site activity, such as the name, email address and geographic location of visitors, along with information on what pages they’ve viewed on the site and what items they’ve placed in their virtual shopping cart. Olark’s live chat can be integrated into many different CRM software programs and apps, including Shopify, Zendesk, Highrise, Google Analytics, Bigcommerce, Salesforce and Nutshell. The service packages differ in terms of the number of back end users or “operators” who are permitted to use the interface. Olark live chat services come with a full-feature 14-day free trial. There is also a “forever free” Olark plan with limited features. About Olark Olark was established in 2009 by Zach Steindler, Roland Osborne, Ben Congleton and Matt Pizzimenti. This company is based in San Francisco, with an additional office located in Ann Arbor, Michigan. Staff are also situated throughout the United States, Canada, the UK and Brazil.

“Great experience with this chat tool”

Olark is not only a cool addition to my website, it has proven to be very useful many times. It's simple to use and both me and my customers think it's a great tool for instant communication, feels as if we're in an actual store having a conversation and a sale at the spot.

Before purchasing Olark's live chat, we interacted with our existing (and potential) customers via phone or e-mail. We did both support and marketing. Phone support was ok, but the e-mail seemed to be a bit too slow for users (and us). Getting Olark was a great decision and customer interaction goes way better. I was trying out Olark on my website and had positive feedback so I decided to purchase the annual plan. I use the chat for both support and sales, whatever a user/visitor is interested in. It's much better and easier than having to deal with people on the phone and explain things that way.

“I love Olark!”

It has been at least 4 years now since i discovered Olark as an add-on to the BigCommerce platform. The one feature that I love about Olark is its ability to remain hidden as a chat window unless i wish to initiate a chat with a customer. That's really powerful!
